Having fun with Unreal materials and blueprints, created in 2024
A colleague of mine was working on a similar effect, I wanted to see if I could re-create it. At its core is a post-process material that blends between two cubemaps, based on a distance to a point in space, with Niagara particles drawn on top via a custom stencil mask. I polished it a little bit, prepared the mesh particles and a 3D background in Houdini and wrapped it all in a shareable UE5 project, including source files
